About this notice

This notice explains how Dayleaf Press handles information when you browse our public website, send us an enquiry or receive a reply. It describes the services we use and how to contact us about your information.

When you contact us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, the subject of your enquiry and your message. We use these details to read and respond to your enquiry, investigate corrections and keep a record of our correspondence. The form does not sign you up for marketing or send an automatic reply.

If you email us directly, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments or other details you choose to include. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry, and avoid including sensitive information such as payment-card details.

When you browse

Your browser sends technical information when it requests a page or submits a form. Our hosting and security services may process your IP address, browser information, the requested address, the time of the request and related connection details to deliver the site, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.

For contact-form abuse prevention, our application uses a temporary identifier derived from your IP address. The contact inbox does not store your raw IP address with your message. Hosting and security providers may keep their own request logs.

The website’s interactive puzzles run in your browser. We do not send your puzzle answers to our inbox or an analytics service.

Cookies and analytics

The public reader pages do not currently use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and our page code does not set cookies or save puzzle answers in browser storage. The site’s fonts and illustrations are served from our own website.

This describes the public reader pages. Hosting security features may use technical information to protect the service. The separate owner sign-in area uses authentication technology, and websites you visit through external links have their own practices.

Services we use

We use the following services to operate the website and handle correspondence. They receive the information needed for the functions described here.

Vercel

Hosts the website and processes the technical requests needed to deliver pages, maintain the service and protect it from abuse.

Supabase

Receives contact-form submissions and stores enquiries and replies in our private inbox.

Zoho Mail

Hosts info@dayleafpress.com and handles messages sent to that mailbox and subsequent email conversations.

Resend

Sends replies from our enquiry inbox. It processes the recipient’s email address, the subject and text of the reply, and related email-delivery information.

These providers operate internationally, so information may be handled outside the country where you live. Their storage, security and retention arrangements depend on the service and configuration.

Reader extras and email updates

When you request bonus puzzles, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. We record the signup page, the consent wording and time, your confirmation, and the edition offered to you. We use these details to send the requested email and manage the occasional updates and reader bonuses you agree to receive.

Entering an address does not confirm a subscription. You confirm on the download page reached from your email. You can unsubscribe using the option in our emails. An old confirmation cannot undo an unsubscribe. We retain a suppression record after a delivery complaint or permanent delivery failure so that normal signup cannot start those emails again.

Supabase stores signup, consent and delivery records and the private puzzle file. Resend processes the recipient address, message and delivery events. Delivery records do not tell us whether you finished downloading or solved a puzzle. We also use temporary identifiers derived from network and address information to limit abusive requests.

Scheduled cleanup removes stored email message bodies and the codes used to validate expired confirmation links after 30 days. Temporary rate-limit records are cleared daily. Signup, consent, delivery and unsubscribe records remain until they are removed through a data request or an administrative retention review; they are not automatically deleted. Contact info@dayleafpress.com to request correction or removal. Provider logs and backups can have different retention periods.

Keeping your information

Enquiries and replies currently remain on file unless they are deleted. Archiving a message keeps it in the inbox; it does not delete it. You can contact us to ask for your information to be removed.

The contact form’s temporary abuse-prevention records are configured for regular deletion. Duplicate-submission records remain linked to the enquiry so that retries do not create extra messages. Email copies, provider logs and backups can have different retention periods.

Access to the private enquiry inbox is restricted to the owner’s authenticated account, with two-factor authentication. We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can browse and play the website puzzles without submitting an enquiry. To ask about information in our correspondence, request a copy, correct it or request deletion, use the contact page or email info@dayleafpress.com. Please identify the email address you used and describe your request.

We may ask for enough information to verify that the request concerns your own information. The rights and time limits that apply can depend on where you live and the circumstances. If a legal requirement prevents us from deleting particular information, we will explain that when responding.

Parents or guardians can use the same contact route if they believe a child has provided personal information, so we can review the matter.

Retailers and other websites

We do not take payment details or complete book orders on this website. If you follow a link to Amazon or another retailer, that service handles the information you provide there under its own privacy notice. This notice does not describe the retailer’s checkout or account services.

Changes and contact

We will update this notice when our website or information-handling practices change, and show the revised date here. For questions about privacy or this notice, please get in touch.
